Price List

We offer a range of options to suit your needs:

On-site Faecal Egg Count (Full Service Wormcount)

  • An AMTRA trained Abacus consultant will arrive at a pre-arranged time convenient for you.
  • You will have an initial consultation including taking the horse's worming history, age, turnout pattern etc.
  • Tests will be conducted on your horse's sample. Please provide more than one ball as your consultant will need to analyse a range from each poo in order to give you an accurate reading.
  • If the result is abnormally high (or low) we will carry out a secondary check-test to prove the result.
  • Within 15 minutes you will have the result. Your consultant will discuss the findings and answer any questions you may have.
  • At this stage you will be able to make an informed decision on your horse's parasite control plan. Depending on the result, this could include the good news that you may not have to worm this time round or choosing an appropriate wormer for the season.
  • All admin is processed and your results are emailed to you for your records.

The cost of an on-site Full Service Wormcount for 5+ horses at the same yard is just£8.50 per test. For fewer horses, please contact us. Pin Worm Tests £5.00

Please contact us about further discounts for large yards.

Faecal Egg Reduction Test (FERT)

There are two situations when we would recommend a reduction test:

        a. After a medium to high result, and subsequent  worming, to check the effectiveness of the wormer.

        b. To check for resistance to your usual wormer.

A reduction test can only be performed following an Abacus faecal egg count and there must be a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 21 days between tests. The FERT can be arranged at the time of the initial yard visit.
