Saturday, 4th June Blog

Hi All

This has been a really wonderful week for Abacus and I have lots to tell you.  I was very busy on Bank Holiday Monday as I had several counts to do in between the move of the terrible two (see last week’s blog) which actually went very well.  They have settled in as if they have been there forever and we have met some lovely new friends both horse and human!

The next day brought a call to the office from a local rescue sanctuary asking if we could help them with their worm programme.  The Boss was really keen to become involved and took us all down to see the wonderful work being done with some lovely ponies which have not had the best of lives.  She gave them a “really good rate” and I am so pleased that we now have them on our books and can follow their progress.

There was a lot of primping and preening in the office this morning as we were off to a photo shoot for a ‘Tried and Tested’ article in the Chiltern and Thames Rider Magazine!  We had to set up the mobile lab and do some testing on some broodmares and foals at a lovely stud in Buckinghamshire.  The trouble was the foals were so beautiful (some only a few weeks old) that there was more time spent playing with them than actually testing their poo!  The Boss did say that it was a really interesting day though and you should look out for the July issue which is out in late June and is all about worming.  If you cannot get a copy you can access it on the internet.  Secretly I think the Boss enjoyed being a ‘five-minute celebrity’!

Well that’s it for this week.  We are off to another show to do some testing next weekend so there will be lots of preparation this week I expect – I hope it is not as windy as last time – our tent nearly blew away!!!

By for now
