Hi All

I can’t believe it has been so long since I last wrote a blog!!!  I have just re-read my last outpouring and things have not got appreciably better, in fact they seem to have got much worse!

I have since lost 6 bags of wood pellet bedding from the yard and have found out that the tack shop that prescribed the wrong wormer to my client did it again to another – strange that the wormer only has 4 months left to its sell by date! Naughty naughty! Moral of the story – check the sell by date on your wormer before you accept it and if you want to split it to use half the next time you worm – make sure you can!!!

Anyway.  Enough of the ranting I have some really exciting news for you.  We have been engaged in some really heavy duty talks with lots of people over the past few weeks and have now come out the other end with a new company!

We have been sharing our lab space with a small postal wormcount company since April and now, due to some totally unforeseen circumstances, they felt that they could no longer run their operation to the ‘full extent of its potential’! We have been asked for many months if we would consider expanding our business to take in worm counts for dogs, cats and other pets and we have so far resisted on the grounds that we just did not have the time or the personnel to cover the extra work.  Well, now we have taken over the Wormcount Dotcom business complete with most of their staff.  We will run the two companies separately and will still be able to offer our on-site worm counting service as usual.  The only difference is now we can reach a much wider audience.  We will also be offering lungworm tests for dogs.  I will be looking after the blogs for both sites and the facebook and twitter accounts – sadly been absent for a few weeks due to simple pressures of work but should now be back to ‘normal’!!

Pop onto the site if you have a minute and see what it is all about. Abacus clients please don’t worry – you will still have your own analysts or ‘poo lady’ that you know and trust visiting your yard – nothing has changed for your service.  It is a very exciting time for Abacus Equine Lab and Wormcount Dotcom.  Watch this space for more info.

Bye for now
