Saturday, 10 December Blog

Hi Guys

This is one Blog that I hoped not to have to write for a very long time. Sadly my beautiful horse, Eric, lost his long battle on Wednesday morning.  My Vet, a brilliant man called Pat Daly, and I agreed that it was time to call it a day for the poor, brave chap as he was not responding to any of the drugs and treatment.  He was not in any pain but, as his bladder was semi-paralyzed and his hind leg co-ordination was compromised due to an attack in his field by another horse in July, which fractured his pelvis, there really was little else we could do for him.  His passing was very peaceful, in his field, with the sun shining.  I just want to thank everyone for their wonderful support and kind messages and texts.  He will be greatly missed as he was such a huge character and truly the nicest horse I have ever known.

But of course, life goes on and we are back to work at the Lab ,still carrying out wormcounts, even in December.  Most of the work is from the Vets who need immediate results on poo samples which we are able to do with our mobile lab.  Next year’s calendar is filling up nicely and we have a lot of talks booked with Riding Clubs and livery yards for March and April.  Great timing for the spring worm onslaught!

Well, this is just a short chat this time but I will speak to you all again next week.

By for now
